AIPS-kongres i Rusland i 2013

LAUSANNE, October 10, 2012 - The 76th annual AIPS Congress will be held in the 2014 Winter Olympic city of Sochi, Russia from April 15 - 19, 2013.

AIPS Vice-president and President of the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia, Nickolai Dolgopolov told the recent AIPS Executive Committee meeting held in Baku, Azerbaijan that the congress would be held in a specially-prepared sports hall adjacent to the 4 Star Radisson Park Inn Hotel located in the upper mountain cluster of Rosa Khutor.

"Congress delegates should arrive in Sochi on April 15 and Executive Committee members will arrive a day earlier (April 14), with the official opening ceremony planned for the evening of April 15," Mr Dolgopolov told the AIPS Executive Committee. Meals will be taken at the Radisson Park Inn," Mr Dolgopolov added.

"Simultaneous translation will be available during the AIPS Congress and a cultural programme in the frame of the upcoming Olympics will be provided, with two excursions to the Olympic sports facilities in the upper and coastal areas FSJR President reported.

Sochi is in the same time zone as Moscow - three hours ahead of London, and two hours ahead of Western Europe. Congress attendees will arrive via a new local airport in Sochi. According to Mr Dolgopolov there will be more than twenty daily flights from Moscow to Sochi - the flights will take 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Another good option is to fly direct from Istanbul. Mr Dolgopolov urges congress delegates to book flights as soon as possible in order to get a good fare.

A special AIPS Congress website will be launched soon with registrations available online. Delegates are advised to register as soon as possible in order for the visa process to be as smooth and as fast as possible.
