ITTF scholarships

The ITTF is offering a scholarship to a number of young European journalists (under 35) to visit the World Table Tennis Championships, in Osaka, Japan, 23 April-6 May 2001.



Objective: To give the possibility to young journalists to increase their knowledge on table tennis and on the International Table Tennis Federation.



Hospitality:The ITTF offers free board, lodging and transport in Osaka.

Travel between hometown and Osaka will be at the candidates’ own expense.



Journalists can apply for the entire World Championships, or only for the team event (the first half of the period) or the individual event (the last half of the period). Please indicate clearly in your application.



Programme - Meetings with:

The ITTF President Mr. Adham Sharara and the ITTF Executive Director Mr. Jordi Serra on the development of table tennis and the objectives of the ITTF.

The ITTF Media Manager Mr. Peter Jensen on the development of the ITTF media plan - magazines, web sites etc.

Presidents from National and Continental Federations as wished

Osaka organisers running for the Olympic Games 2008.

The opportunity to follow the World Championships.



Eligibility: Journalists working for newspapers, magazines, sports magazines and radio and television broadcasters. Persons working for sports associations and their respective magazines will not be eligible. The ITTF reserves the right to choose freely from the applications.
