The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has been created in 1999 by both the Olympic Movement and Governments. The mission of the WADA is to promote and co-ordinate on an international basis the fight against doping in sport in all its forms. In order to gain support from the public opinion and get it to understand the issues of anti-doping, Communication is absolutely key. The WADA is presently moving to Montreal, and will count about 40 employees in the near future.
Director of Communication
You promote new values into the world of sports
As Director of Communication, you belong to the WADA management team and report to the CEO, you develop and implement the communications programmes of the Agency and are responsible for managing the Communications Department, including its staff and budget. Your tasks encompass relations with the public and the media, as well as external communication with the federations and the athletes. By maintaining close relations with the governmental bodies, you actively promote the importance of the WADA mission and get people to understand anti-doping's main issues. You also take care of the internal communication with the Committees, the Board and the staff. In order to reach the widest audience, you also develop our presence on the New Media. A University graduate, you demonstrate a successful track record in Communications (an experience of 5 - 10 years), ideally within a multicultural and international organisation. You have excellent oral and written communication skills (perfect English and very good French required). A genuine interest for sports and an experience in social marketing (like anti-smoking campaigns, drunk driving) are an asset. You are identified with the fundamental values we promote: loyalty, team spirit and trust. We offer a high visibility position in an international environment.
